The Glovinsky Center is pleased to provide Psychological, Speech Pathology, and PLAY Project services using Teletherapy.
How Does Teletherapy Work?
Through the use of mobile devices or interactive videoconferencing we can now offer therapy beyond our office walls. We know that everyone is practicing social distancing during this time of the Coronavirus. The Glovinsky Center therapists use HIPAA compliant and safe technology to allow a therapy session to take place on your computer, tablet, or phone. We want to be able to provide the support you are looking for.
Will Teletherapy Be Covered By Insurance?
Most insurances, including most Blue Cross plans, will cover and treat Teletherapy sessions in the same way as if you were in our office. On April 2, 2020 Blue Cross announced they would be waving cost sharing for mental health services through June 30, 2020.
What About Confidentiality?
Confidentiality and privacy is crucial for the therapeutic process. Our therapists will work with you to identify a time and location in your office or home that will permit this privacy.
Is Teletherapy Effective With Children?
We are seeing success with children of all ages that are using Teletherapy. With younger children parents are more involved in their sessions, just like in-person visits in our office. At this time of the Coronavirus Pandemic we are seeing more parents who need our psychoeducational services to manage the balance of family, school and work changes.
